Season to taste

Look up, look up,

The trees are dancing, choosing summer clothes,

The branches clitter-clatter in the breeze.

Look up, look up,

The clouds are skittering, scattering scarves of gauze

Listen, listen

High in the sky the birds go chitter-chatter.

Look down, look down,

The winter waterfalls pour from sodden paths

Sparkled and sunlit, determinedly dashing downstream

Look down, look down,

Tiny white flowers pulsate and push

Thrusting upwards toward the light

Listen, Listen,

The wood-pecker goes a-rat-a-tat-tat.

Earth is singing her greenest song.

Then slowly waning summer sighs,

And weakened, wends her weary way

Fresh fallen leaves and lingering light

Golden glints through trembling trees

Smell of burning logs and fires

Glowing lamps throw shadowy shapes:

Outrageous, irksome imagery,

Nothing new, yet new each time.

Whirling winds and rain-drenched days

Snow and ice and biting chill

Disclose some dimmer, darker thoughts

Meditation, Motivation,

Absolution, Aberration,

And contemplation of the id.

Loving means risking all you are

Dare to love then you must know,

That loving means risking all you are

Glorious gain gives way to pain

And cold, grey winter will remain.

The choice is clear

There is no choice

Loving means risking all you are.

Who are we? Where do we come from? Where do we go?

Spring summer autumn winter

This is the pattern of our lives.

Spring summer autumn winter

Smiles and tears, joy and grief,

Spring summer autumn winter

A butterfly beats its wings and we

Are inextricably intertwined.

Infinity, eternity,

Our lives are linked forever

And the world becomes a different place.

Who are we? Where do we come from? Where do we go?

There are no answers.

Carpe diem:

Seize the day.

In the end

It’s all you have.
