Help Me Make It Through The Night

As I lay awake in bed

I squeeze my pillow tight

Through my tears I say out loud

Help me make it through the night

Itís been so long since I have slept

Every night I toss and turn

Whilst my babyís far away

The pain inside me burns

Through the day I face the world

With a smile upon my face

But itís so hard to be cheerful

When my babyís in that place

People round me sympathise

But they donít really understand

What itís like to have your baby

At war in a far off land

I donít care whoís right or wrong

Or what has been done so long before

I just want my baby home

Not fighting someone elseís war

Until my baby is home with me

I squeeze my pillow tight

Through my tears Iíll shout out loud

Help me make it through the night
